Red wine is among the healthiest ways one can indulge in alcohol. One of the main reasons is red wine has a polyphenol called resveratrol, a key anti-oxidant which has been shown to reverse the aging process. It also has anti-cancer potency. Recently resveratrol was also shown to aid in weight loss too. Seems this potent polyphenol does a lot of good things.

People often eat too much and get fat in the first place because they indulge. Emotional or ‘binge’ eating are rampant in todays high stress world. Eating is one way people try to make themselves feel good. And typically these comfort foods are high in fat and sugar. Which makes many gain weight.

Drinking alcohol is another way people cope with stress. Unfortunately, like eating too much junk food, drinking alcohol often leads to weight gain amongst other health conditons. Sure, studies show drinking small amounts (1 drink or so) can actually reduce stress, but this is more a reflection of just how stressed people are these days. It takes a drug like alcohol to help them. Its like studies showing coffee has anti-oxidants; sure it does but very small amounts. The fact that people get their anti-oxidants from coffee is more a reflection of just how poor their nutrition status is.

Resveratrol may help lose weight, but the amounts in red wine is far too little to achieve this. And red wine in small amounts is acceptable and probably wont compromise your health in significant amounts. But its a poor way to reduce stress, and consuming more than around 1 glass may lead to weight gain and other issues.

If you want to reduce stress and emotional or ‘binge’ eating, consider Gabatrol. It has almost no calories, and can effectively help you control stress and emotional eating with no side effects. Plus the amino acids in Gabatrol are healthy for you!

Does the voice inside your head speak out in a hard of soft manner?

Often our internal dialogue goes on without our awareness and creates more stress, anxiety and depression for us!

For example, in the gym my voice is a hard, Marine Type: “PUSH HARDER! DON’T QUIT NOW SOLDIER!” And it gets me to push harder, too hard at times. Same thing when I used to race motorcycles. Hence all my injuries. At home when I need to be writing my book, the soft voice dominates: “relax, take it easy, you deserve to…” and then telling me to spend more time reading, watching Book TV or to make another cup of coffee! It seems to lure me away from focusing on what I intended to do.

Neither voice in the extreme is healthy, and often other issues such as fear (fear of failure, fear of looking foolish etc) speak through these voices in our head. Ironically its often the wrong voice that dominates us as the above examples show.

I could see how others relate to internal self talk when I used to personal train clients in the gym. Some clients will push thru everything, injuries, naseau, even being sick. Others use any excuse to either cancel the session or when we train, they stop at the first hint of pain.

I’m not saying either is good or bad, it’s simply an interesting observation we all could take a look at. And in our ability to see, we become more aware and hence can take true action to balance ourselves yet once again.

This internal voice is key in how we think and talk inside our heads – often creating more stress, anxiety and depression for ourselves. Or if we can master the art of internal self talk, we can create more success and happiness in our life.

In fact there may be several voices (or conflicting desires)tearing us apart at once. For example, without our awareness, an internal battle of the voices ensues as we reach for the candy bar (or cake, martini, etc). I can just hear it now: “You are too fat to eat that”, or “Go ahead, indulge – you deserve it!”, and “You can burn it off in the gym later”, “It’s (someone else’s) fault – he planted the idea of this by mentioning it to you!”, and on and on!

Remain vigilant to the inner dialogue of your mind. Don’t blindly trust your thoughts, they are NOT your friends!

So for me it means not getting up off this seat to grab a coffee, but forcing myself to get my writing done. Or when snowboarding, a little less intensity and cliff jumping would probably add years to my already battle weary knee injury.

If your own self talk does not seem to be working to get you motivated to do something or makes you more stressed – try Gabatrol. It can make you feel more positive and reduce negative feelings so that you can have the motivation to step up and do more positive things in your life. For example, some people report that when they feel depressed or lacking motivation to go to the gym – taking Gabatrol makes them feel better and they find themselves more motivated to go!

This of course creates a domino effect – they take Gabatrol, go to the gym, feel better and then they want to eat better too, and on and on! Gabatrol can spin you off in a more positive direction – its safe and fast-acting. Try it now!
