Can a movie make people sad o r suicidal?

It seems there is a growing number of people are disturbed by the hit movie Avatar. “”The hubbub began with this story on CNN.com, “Audiences experience ‘Avatar’ blues,” about how some avid Avatar fans are so enthralled by the movie’s lush landscapes of Pandora, the imaginary world where the movie takes place, and the nature-loving ethos of the Na’vi race, that their own lives pale in comparison. Go off the deep end  — i.e. suicidal thoughts — and this is a disturbing phenomenon, to be sure.” (Psych. Today)

A utopia where people live in harmony and peace with the world has been a dream of many for millenia. Unfortuantely the reality of the world is far from this. Human nature, not the nature we ‘think’ we have, but the real human nature as seen in the chaos of the world, seems set against our quest for peace and happiness. So many people want to escape into a fantasy world – in film, but also through the use of other escape/coping mechanisms such as drugs and alcohol. Even junk food is an escape of sorts, a quick fix to make us feel better. But as we see, it always has a heavy cost.

The sad truth is the world is not going to change. The good news is that it is that part of you that gets sad and depressed at life that is causing ALL your problems. You, your ego, are thyour own worst enemy. This is great news because it gives us the power to make the changes to improve our world.  The world is the way it is, because you are the way you are.

If you can remember this, every time you get sad or depressed (or stressed and anxious) – you will wake up to the fact that you do not have to fall into the trap of negative emotions. You do not have to escape into drugs, alcohol, comfort foods or movies like Avatar – they only end up making you worse in the long term.

Armed with this new knowledge, you can step up and make positive choices. In the moment, you can do a number of things to help let go of those emotions. Exercise, or even going out into the woods for a walk, yoga, meditation, prayer, listening to relaxing music or even reading the Bible or some other inspirational book – can work wonders for you.

They say “You can’t have your cake and eat it too’ but I say ’stay awake and have your cake’ meaning you can find joy in the moment no matter what just be waking up.  The biggest mistake you can make is to think your awake – or “Let the dead bury the dead” someone once said.  Same thing – you get the point.

Practice being present and vigilant to the trappings of your own mind and nature that is often out to sabotage you!  And if you need a healthy quick fix for negative emotions, reach for Gabatrol.

Reducing stress can help you lose weight!

Every day we are seeing new studies come out on how reducing stress can improve health and prevent disease. Today another study shows that doing Yoga, which reduces stress, can lower IL-6, a chemical in the body that leads to inflammation. And inflammation is a major factor in weight gain, but also other conditions like cancer and heart disease.

Stress can cause an unhealthy increase of hormones in our body like cortisol and adrenalin. Like anxiety and depression, it can also make us reach out for comfort foods or other ‘feel good’ remedies like alcohol. This sets up a downward spiral of health and well being and leads to more inflammation.

Inflammation leads to altered insulin function, which combined with the tendency to do ‘emotional eating’ from stress – leads to getting fatter! Not what we want.

If you want to lose weight, you need to be aware of your levels of stress, anxiety and depression. If you feel the need for a fast acting, healthy way to reduce stress, anxiety and depression – try Gabatrol.

It works in as little as 15 minutes to get you back on the right track.

There is another big ‘O’ besides the one your mind conjures up when you hear the ‘O’ (I know what you’re thinking!). And it’s even more important for health and happiness. This big O is called oxygen.

In physics the ‘Higgs Boson’ is called the God particle, but to me it’s oxygen! This is because it’s the one thing above all else keeping us alive and it appears to be a cure for everything too. I call it the Big O.  It’s one of the best things you can take for depression, stress or anxiety.  It’s the key to healing your body from diseases (look up ozone therapy for more information). Oxygen is the ultimate fat burner, the fountain of youth, & the source of life. Best of all, it’s free, and you can get it anywhere. Oxygen makes up most of you – about 65% of your body is oxygen.

Oxygen actually functions as a neurotransmitter, so it’s intimately involved with how our brain works. This of course means it is a key to how we think and feel too. And as anyone who has tried it will attest – oxygen seems to make you feel better! This is one reason why exercise can reduce stress, anxiety and depression. It makes us feel good.  I think the negative ions in outdoor air is one reason why it seems exercise outside has more of an effect for me on feeling better then for example, exercising in the gym with the recirculated indoor air.

So if you feel stress or other negative emotions, try going outside for a brisk walk, run, hike or bike ride.  I think you will feel better real quick.  If you feel you cannot do that or lack the inspiration to, then consider another fast acting way by taking Gabatrol. Customers report that it works fast to safely and effectively reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

The world was shocked this weekend to hear that famed actress Brittany Murphy had died from cardiac arrest. Brittany was a rising star and appeared in films such as “Clueless” and “Girl, Interrupted”.  While the details of her death remain a mystery, there are rumors she was very ill and also on prescription medications.    TMZ reports that the actress had experienced flu-like symptoms in the days leading to her death, and that Murphy was seriously ill a few hours before she collapsed. Sources told the website that Murphy began vomiting early Sunday morning.

Other reports claimed the actress was very thin and at times emotionally unstable. This is a typical situation many women face; the pressure to stay thin and look beautiful is stressful and can lead to emotional instability. To make matters worse, the way most women try to maintain the look, using severe dieting, vomiting, illegal and prescription drugs will only make the situation escalate into a life threatening one faster.

If you feel pressure to look a certain way or to lose weight, this added stress may lead to emotional upset. Fortunately you can reduce hunger cravings and emotional eating or binging while also reducing your stress and anxiety levels, simply by using safe, all natural Gabatrol. Gabatrol works in as little as 15 minutes to reduce stress, anxiety and depression and the negative behaviors associated with them.

Several key ingredients in Gabatrol have been shown effective in curbing appetite and reducing binge or emotional eating.  One of these is Kanna, a rare herb from South Africa with centuries of documented use in treating stress, depression and to curb appetite. The local people there used to chew the  leaves when they were on long walks or hunting, since often they could not eat for long periods of time.

Another key ingredient is Phenyl-GABA. This is a much more potent form of the amino-acid GABA. It has
also been shown to reduce stress and anxiety and also reduce emotional or binge eating. Combined with a healthy diet, exercise and stress management practices such as yoga or meditation, Gabatrol can be part of an effective program to achieve your goals with great ease and far less stress.

Perhaps if Brittany Murphy had been on a healthier path by using natural means to control her weight and
stress issues, she may not have had such a tragic end.  Her life is your lesson to take a step in the right direction and take control of your life by choosing Gabatrol.

Do you find my brain? - Auf der Suche nach mei...

Does the voice inside your head speak out in a hard of soft manner?

Often our internal dialogue goes on without our awareness and creates more stress, anxiety and depression for us!

For example, in the gym my voice is a hard, Marine Type: “PUSH HARDER! DON’T QUIT NOW SOLDIER!” And it gets me to push harder, too hard at times. Same thing when I used to race motorcycles. Hence all my injuries. At home when I need to be writing my book, the soft voice dominates: “relax, take it easy, you deserve to…” and then telling me to spend more time reading, watching Book TV or to make another cup of coffee! It seems to lure me away from focusing on what I intended to do.

Neither voice in the extreme is healthy, and often other issues such as fear (fear of failure, fear of looking foolish etc) speak through these voices in our head. Ironically its often the wrong voice that dominates us as the above examples show.

I could see how others relate to internal self talk when I used to personal train clients in the gym. Some clients will push thru everything, injuries, naseau, even being sick. Others use any excuse to either cancel the session or when we train, they stop at the first hint of pain.

I’m not saying either is good or bad, it’s simply an interesting observation we all could take a look at. And in our ability to see, we become more aware and hence can take true action to balance ourselves yet once again.

This internal voice is key in how we think and talk inside our heads – often creating more stress, anxiety and depression for ourselves. Or if we can master the art of internal self talk, we can create more success and happiness in our life.

In fact there may be several voices (or conflicting desires)tearing us apart at once. For example, without our awareness, an internal battle of the voices ensues as we reach for the candy bar (or cake, martini, etc). I can just hear it now:  “You are too fat to eat that”, or “Go ahead, indulge – you deserve it!”, and “You can burn it off in the gym later”, “It’s (someone else’s) fault – he planted the idea of this by mentioning it to you!”, and on and on!

Remain vigilant to the inner dialogue of your mind. Don’t blindly trust your thoughts, they are NOT your friends!

So for me it means not getting up off this seat to grab a coffee, but forcing myself to get my writing done. Or when snowboarding, a little less intensity and cliff jumping would probably add years to my already battle weary knee injury.

If your own self talk does not seem to be working to get you motivated to do something or makes you more stressed – try Gabatrol. It can make you feel more positive and reduce negative feelings so that you can have the motivation to step up and do more positive things in your life. For example, some people report that when they feel depressed or lacking motivation to go to the gym – taking Gabatrol makes them feel better and they find themselves more motivated to go!

This of course creates a domino effect – they take Gabatrol, go to the gym, feel better and then they want to eat better too, and on and on! Gabatrol can spin you off in a more positive direction – its safe and fast-acting. Try it now!

A simple technique I find can often help people feeling tense and stressed is based on the idea of ‘like cures like’. Yes this is also the premise for homeopathy, which also appears to being more validated over the years.  Read along and see if this makes sense to you.
When we feel tense and stressed, our bodies respond with the typical ‘stress response’ of increasing adrenalin and cortisol. These ‘fight or flight’ reactions trigger these hormones which gets our body ready to deal with the threat we think we face. Often in our primitive environment (back in the so called Paleolithic era) this response was a matter of life or death. We might have been attacked by a dangerous animal and needed this chemical cascade to save us! Unfortunately today with the less severe but more frequent threats we experience, this ‘fight or flight’ response becomes toxic to our bodies!
The stress response makes our body ready to fight or run faster and harder, our muscles are tense and have more blood flow to them.   Back in the Paleolithic era we would in fact use these hormones to help us do exactly that; run or fight better. But today they just flow through our bodies making us feel tense and since we don’t really use them they end up causing more harm.
One way to reduce their negative effect is to use them – to get out and exercise. But often we cannot do that. So another way when feeling tense is to simply tense up! That’s right, take a deep breath and as you hold it, squeeze all the muscles in your body as hard as you can. By tensing up the muscles in this fashion,  I think to some degree you will end up finding a relief in the feelings of stress and tension!
I have tried it and it works for me!

Can foods that make us feel good actually make us sick and feel more stress, anxiety and depression in the long run? Yes! Look at alcohol for example – it’s a quick fix that makes us feel good short term, but often ends up making things worse all around.

Ironically the foods that we often find ourselves craving are the same ones we
are allergic to.  Even your doctor would not typically be able to discern this
as they measure the common IgG response in the body to determine allergies. IgG
elevation is typified by common allergy symptoms, including runny nose, red or
watery eyes, etc.

Subclinical (meaning not always able to be diagnosed by a doctor in a clinical
setting) allergies, like subclinical vitamin deficiences, often go untreated. In
this case, a food allergy can illicit an IgE response that can lead to reactions
such as headaches and weight gain. They can also affect our mood making us more sensitive to stress, anxiety and depression.

They do this because the food triggers the allergic reaction which then releases
epinepherine into the body. This is one of those ‘feel good’ chemicals and so we
end up craving the very food that is bad for us!

In addition, foods like wheat and chocolate (dairy too) produce opiate like
compounds in the body that also are addicting, hence we can end up craving those
foods as well. Wheat in particular is riddled with so many negative risk factors I tell all my clients to avoid wheat products as much as possible. If you must consume
grains, use brown rice, quinoa, pure rye, oats, or even the new sprouted grain
products (Ezekial) as they are less associated with side effects.

Top foods to avoid that produce toxic reactions in the body are wheat, sugar,
soy, corn and dairy.  Learn to gradually shift your consumption of these to
healthier alternatives. For sugar, naturally occurring sugars in fruits are
better, as is Agave, and zero calorie herbals Stevia and Lo Han.

With soy, fermented soy appears safer, so items like tempeh and tofu could be
used.  The health benefits of soy are questionalbe and as I try to adopt a
‘Controversy Free’ philosophy, if there is doubt, its best to avoid it as much
as possible.

For corn there are also many substitutes from other less popular grains.  Dairy
can be safe if you get it raw & unpastuerized but this is not easy to come by. So
nut milks like almond, or even goat products appear to be less reactive in the
body.

For a healthy ‘quick fix’ to make you feel better and reduce stress, anxiety and depression try safe, fast-acting Gabatrol. The ingredients in Gabatrol have been shown to help reduce emotional or binge eating and food cravings!

Holiday stress can make happy times unhappy

Holiday stress can make happy times unhappy

Stress comes in all forms and among the most stressful events are often those that we are supposed to be happy with!  That’s right, getting married, buying a new house, or getting ready for the holidays can actually be hazardous to your health.  That’s because the stress and anxiety you feel over these ‘happy events’ signal the same stress response in your body as the dangerous or unpleasant situations most people associate with stress (traffic, job loss, divorce, etc).

So it’s important for your health, and emotional well being, that you control holiday stress. After all, what good is the holiday if most of the time you are stressed out preparing for it?  Here is a list of the Top 10 Ways To Reduce Stress around the holiday:

Top 10 Ways To Reduce Holiday Stress:

10. Buy everyone gift cards

9.  Shop online

8. Never shop on the weekends

7. Take a ½ day off from work to shop with no crowds

 6. Shop with friends (sharing time kills two birds with one stone and alleviates stress)

5.  Get creative: think of home-made gifts that are easy and fun to make, plus less expensive!

4.  Be aware of how you feel:  when you feel stress increasing, practice taking slow, relaxed breaths to bring you back to center.

3.  Shop after the holidays: give everyone a card telling them the gift is still on the way!  You can even give them a hint of what you will get them to pique their interest.

2.  Pace yourself: after 1-2 hours of shopping, take a break. Have some tea or something.  Almost like being in the gym – you do a set of one exercise, then you rest, and do another. Here the sets are different stores. So you hit Macy’s, then rest, have some tea. Hit The Gap and Vitamin Shop (to buy Gabatrol for stress & anxiety of course!) then rest.

1.  Take Gabatrol for immediate relief from holiday stress and anxiety. Gabatrol will make you feel great in as little as 15 minutes! It’s safe, fast acting and will have you floating through your holiday shopping feeling relaxed and calm!

Tiger Woods Wife

Tiger Woods Wife

Tiger Woods, the most celebrated golf professional of all time, is up to his ears with stress and anxiety recently.  What began as a simple car accident has turned into a full blown scandal, with possible civil and criminal charges being filed against Tiger.  He has embarrassed the local police by calling them up to the house and then refusing them entry, and as we all know, you don’t want to get on their bad side.

Although no one is sure exactly what happened, rumor has it Tiger Woods had an affair and got caught.  His wife, Elin Nordegren erupted in anger and attacked Tiger, forcing him to flee in his car. As he left, she grabbed a golf club and began hitting the back of the car, shattering the window. Tiger looked back at this and ended up hitting a hydrant and tree due to being distracted.

What could have prevented all this? Gabatrol! That’s right – Gabatrol could have saved Tiger Woods and his wife.  Many people report that using Gabatrol they feel more in the mood for intimacy with their spouse.  It makes sense – if you feel less stress and anxiety, you are more open and emotionally receptive to intimacy.  Plus when your inhibitions are reduced you feel more in the mood for sex.   This could save many marriages!

Even if the affair happened, if Tiger Woods or his wife had taken Gabatrol – they would have felt more in control of their emotions. More capable to deTiger Woods and Wifeal with all the stress and anxiety these events can cause. And we all know divorce, marital issues, adultery, and sexual affairs are very stressful.  We have people reporting that when they use Gabatrol, they feel more in control, and less prone to reacting with anger.

It’s simple chemistry – the ingredients in Gabatrol work to balance out brain chemistry which makes you able to better cope with stress.  Because you are able to relax, you are far more effective at everything, and can make positive outcomes happen with far less effort!

Give Gabatrol a try and see if it can save your relationship – and help you avoid a “Tiger Wood” moment! And maybe even divorce court!
